June books

Quick reviews of the books I read in June towards 52 books in 52 weeks. This was a month of re-reads and free e-books.
- Lover Eternal
Yes I re-read this. I don’t know what I found anything new in it honestly. But I needed some good comfort reading and this hit the spot.
- Lover Revealed
Still haven’t gotten that entire reading in order thing down yet with Ward’s books. I really only re-read this because I was trying to find fodder for an article. Maybe fodder is the wrong word. Sources sounds better.
- Wicked Ties
Impossible love! Reunion! Romance! Mystery! Ok, the “real” plot of the novel was pretty cool. A woman who hosts a sex talk show on cable (no, I’m not kidding) is being stalked by her ex-boyfriend. Her new lover is a body guard who kicks his ass. Typical romance, but the writing was pretty good.
- Surrender
This was a collection of romances, and I honestly can only remember that one of the couples was married and I liked that story the best. The others were far fetched and… forgettable.
- Baby Bonanza
So Harlequin Romance (read a few, then you can judge us) is 60 this year and to celebrate they have a dozen or so titles they’re giving away for free. My new iTouch and I couldn’t resist. This was one of those freebies and I loved it! It was quick, absolutely ridiculous and had a silly happy ending. Its the equivalent of eating a really good dessert at a restaurant. You’d never do it on a regular basis, it tastes remarkable and you don’t really feel guilty afterwards. Except I’m addicted now.
- Slow Hands
Another freebie, this one was more tragically ridiculous but I still enjoyed it. Happy ending.
- Price of Passion
Yet another… but you know what? This one was really good aside from the steamy scenes. The characters were rightfully complex and they didn’t fall into bed in the first three chapters. They didn’t get together until the end and they still had some shit to work out even then. Considering I got this book for free, I seriously ripped HQN off.

Thanks for the mini reviews… I’ll be checking some of these out.
