And now for something completely different…

This past Sunday, April 12th, was Somber and myselfs first wedding anniversary! Which means on April 13th we sealed our ‘handfasting’ deal. Now he’s stuck with me ^.^

ShinyAnniversary-after

I think we had a pretty amazing first year of marriage. As I’ve said before, it is not unicorns shitting rainbows. Somber did something insanely romantic and thoughtful – he made me two mix CDs based around the dominant concepts in our handfasting ceremony. ‘Yeah, shits going to happen, but we don’t do it intentionally and we’re both sticking around for the after party.’ We used to make each other mix CDs all the time, so that has more significance than you might think. It was the most romantic present I’ve ever gotten. Flowers… eat your heart out.

Pearls

He also got me some stunning pearl earrings to match a necklace I’ve had for about forever. To quote him, “You asked me for those about two years ago, but I asked you to marry me instead. So I thought I’d give them to you now.” I think I melted into the couch at that point. He’s really the most fantastic man alive. Seriously. You should all be very jealous. >.<

Ok, enough sappy shit!

I hope you read the short story I posted earlier today. Or yesterday… whatever. Its good, really. I’m not just tooting my own horn. Ok… I probably am, but no one else is going to do it for me! Anyway, the password to read it is soblue409.

In other news… I’m working on a new project… and by project I guess I mean art.  Here’s a teaser of said project….

Journal Project Teaser

Hey, that’s just another picture of cat! No, no, look past the cat. I’ve recently uncovered my old literature journals and have begun a rather painstaking process of photographing them for a larger, more… interesting auto-biographical art project. I’ll be teasing you lots in here because its probably going to be a while before its done. These journals were pretty much my life for 4 years. There’s pages and pages filled with more art than I could really wrap my head around at the time.

Since I’ve suddenly “found my muse” again after four or five dead years (thanks university!) I guess I decided to do something with them. Everyone’s always asking me that, “Why do you keep this junk around?” This is why.
