Friends and Covers

Booking Through Thursday 9-22-09
Since “Inspiration” is (or should) the theme this week … what is your reading inspired by?
Most of my reading is inspired by others. I ask my friends about their favorite books and if I like them enough I’ll cruise Amazon or Shelfari for similar titles. Some of the books I’ve found through friend recommendations:
- Outlander by Diana Gabaldon (mini review)
- Harry Potter by JK Rowling
- Sherrilyn Kenyon’s Dark Hunter Series (mini review)
- The Alchemist by Paul Coelho (my review)
- Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman
- Eragon by Christopher Paolini
But then every so often I find myself wandering around the book store with nothing in hand… its times like this what I break the golden rule of books…
I judge books by their covers. Its shameless I know, but when the randomness strikes I pick up the most interesting cover and surprisingly every book I’ve nabbed like this has been excellent! So maybe there is something to be said about book covers.
Titles I love, covers and all:
- Vamped by David Sosnowski
- A Dirty Job by Christopher Moore
- Peeps by Scott Westerfeld (my review)
