Outlander Series – mini review
I just finished Outlander by Diana Gabaldon last night and I have to say, its probably one of the best books I’ve finished all year. (Notice I said finished, I’m reading some really excellent books that I have yet to finish reading).
I’m not done digesting Outlander yet, but I needed to post about where I’ve been! The Twilight essay is coming along… everythings down I just need to smash it all together and make it sound cohesive. Perhaps next week I will have that ready for other eyes.
Outlander was fabulous. I would explain how much better it is than oh… say… Twilight, but there is absolutley no comparison. Twilight is a Twinkie and Outlander is a gourmet pastry, well worth the heft of 800 pages. And these aren’t quick reads. I’ve read a few YA books that neared 800 pages and they were all lame, for lack of a better term. This is 800 pages of good literature. Now, its no Eggers or Kafka, but its good literature. And its historically accurate to boot, always a plus. Anyway, perhaps a full review will surface by tonight.

I’ve read hundreds, maybe thousands of books, over my lifetime. I read everything: the Classics, Fiction, Non-Fiction, Memoir, just about every genre you can think of. “The Outlander” remains among my top 25. I recommend it to people all the time.
